By Anonymous Austin, TX February 13, 2004--The Golf Club at Circle C, an 18-hole daily fee public course and club located in Southwest Austin, has launched an innovative approach to marketing their golf course with the development of the "Golfers That Give” program for 2004.
The “Golfers That Give” program involves selecting a community partner and a program to support the selected organization with donations from guests of the golf facility. Golfers at The Golf Club at Circle C are asked to support the selected organization by donating goods for distribution by the featured organization to their participants. In return for donated goods, guests receive discounted greens fees.
“Traditional marketing methods such as Internet based discounting have proven beneficial to varied customers at a detrimental cost to some golf courses and we want to reverse that trend,” explains Chip Gist, general manager. “We have developed a program that provides a balance between providing a tangible benefit for the golfer and meeting the financial goals of the course. This approach gives value not only to the guest and the course, but also to the community.”
The first quarter partner for the “Golfers That Give” program is the First Tee of Greater Austin a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship.
“The Golf Club at Circle C is committed to growing the game through the youth of Austin,” Gist elaborates. “And because The First Tee of Greater Austin shares this vision we want to ensure its success. We can’t think of a better partner to launch our ‘Golfers That Give’ program”.
“The First Tee of Greater Austin is honored to be selected as a partner in the ‘Golfers That Give’ program because it allows us to educate more individuals on our mission and directly involve them in reaching our goal of making a difference in the lives of Austin youth,” remarks Jennifer MacCurrach, executive director of the organization.
Guests at The Golf Club at Circle C can support this cause by donating a gently used carry bag through March 31, 2004. Donations will be accepted at the course and individuals that participate will receive a $10 reduction on their rate for the donation.
