By Anonymous VANCOUVER, British Columbia, October 28, 2003 – GPS Industries Inc. (OTC BB: GPSN, Berlin WKN#: 934529), a supplier of GPS-based sports intelligence systems today announced that world-renowned Brookwater Golf Club in Brisbane, Australia has ordered its complete Inforemer™ golf system.
The Inforemer system includes a comprehensive suite of golf course information management tools and state-of-the art color mobile display units, which will be installed on all of Brookwater’s golf carts to further enhance the golfer’s experience and enjoyment of the game.
The Brookwater Golf Club is nestled in the expansive Brookwater golf-community, which encompasses more than 850 home sites. In just over one year since opening its Greg Norman-designed championship golf course, Brookwater has received unprecedented recognition and accolades, and was recently named the No. 1 public access course in Australia by Golf Australia Magazine. In addition, Brookwater has been rated Best Course in Queensland by AUSGOLF Magazine the last two years.
This announcement comes less than a month after GPS Industries announced key additions to its sales leadership team and on the heels of its foray into the Australian market. “We are honored that Brookwater has selected our company as their provider. This is the crown jewel of Australian golf,” said Robert Silzer Sr. CEO of GPS Industries. “This further validates our strategy of becoming one of the premier global providers of GPS-based systems, and we look forward to more announcements of our successes in Australia and other international markets as we continue our expansion.”
“Brookwater Golf Club has risen to the upper echelon of golf courses in Australia in such a short time, “ commented David Townend, General Manager of Brookwater Golf Club. “When making a decision to introduce the latest in technology to offer to our members and guests, we took our time and researched all the options. We are pleased with our decision to introduce the Inforemer GPS to Brookwater for many reasons. Being the first course in Australia was definitely a plus. Greg Norman’s involvement provided us with the confidence that it was a great product and finally the price, back-up service and training being offered are leaps and bounds ahead of the competitors. We look forward to utilizing this system to its full capacity and bringing more joy to our golfers experience at Brookwater”.
Brookwater is one of the first Norman-designed courses to announce installation of the Informer since Norman joined the GPS Industries Board of Directors and commenced its strategic partnership with Great White Shark Enterprises and Greg Norman Golf Course Design. Brookwater is managed by Troon Golf, one of the world’s most exclusive golf course management companies. Troon has more than 140 golf courses in 11 countries including the United States, Scotland, Japan, Mexico and the Bahamas.
